Department of Electronics and Information Technology
The Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (formerly Chair of Electronics) was established in its current structure in 1991 after the transformation of the Chair of Automation and Electronics. The founder and first director was doc. dr inż. (Assoc. Prof.) Tadeusz Latocha (DEng). In 1998-2003 the Department was headed by prof. dr hab. inż. (Assoc. Prof.) Witold Pawelski (DEng). In 2003, the head of the Department was prof. dr hab. inż. (Assoc. Prof.) Waldemar Wójcik (DEng).
The Institute of Electronics and Information Technology of the Lublin University of Technology has a special place in the south-eastern region of Poland, conducting scientific, research and didactic activity in areas such as fiber optics, power electronics, measuring and control devices and the processing of signals and information. In connection with the opening at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the discipline of Computer Science, the Institute received new teaching tasks and is undergoing intensive development.
It currently has a total of 32 employees, including two professors and three academic teachers with a habilitation degree.
